Thumbnail The Debenham Devils Cycle Speedway Team. The cycle speedway team of local boys aged from around 10 to 16 years. It was founded in the early 1970s. One of the founders of the team was Hav Wilkins, who ran the bicycle repair shop in the centre of Debenham (opposite Abbotts hardware shop).The cycle speedway track was near the west boundary of the recreation ground, near the(then newly-community centre).Godfrey Wilkins Godfrey can be seen riding his bike on the far right of the black and white photo. Hav Wilkin's wife, Joan, who was a seamstress by trade, probably made the team's red and yellow bibs, which bore the emblem of a devil's trident. This is just visible in picture No. 02 worn by the rider in the centre of the track.
