Maria Marten and the Red Barn
July 1 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Bryan Thurlow brings to life some of the leading characters to tell the tragic true story of Maria Marten, a poor Suffolk maiden who fell victim to the young village squire in the village of Polstead, near Hadleigh. Just three days after Maria’s body had been found, William Corder was arrested leading to a very public hanging outside Bury St Edmunds gaol in 1828.
